Cell Phones & Breast Cancer

Classien Smit, a resident of Johannesburg, South Africa, was a lively 79 year old who spent 80% of her day driving old people around to do their errands. Whenever she drove, she kept her handbag in the trunk of her car and her cell phone tucked into her left bra cup.

Here are pictures of her left breast showing clearly the result of cell phone exposure. The other breast had no cancer. A mammogram and five sonars in March and at the beginning of April did not pick up the cancer. Classien was finally diagnosed with severe breast cancer on the 20th of April 2009 and died June 4th, 2009. Her family consented to share this story and photos with the world in the hope it will save lives.

Radiation from Cell Phones: Things to Keep in Mind

The glasses that you may wear, the shape of your face, the place where you make your call – such as inside a car where the microwaves bounce to and fro between the metallic body – can greatly affect how much microwaves you actually absorb inside your head (or other vulnerable organs and/or tissues of your body). The presence of metal objects in the environment, or even inside your body (dental fillings, braces, surgical implants, etc.) can locally increase exposure up to 100 TIMES – as noted in a research paper* by Dr. Om P. Gandhi published in Radio Science.

Contrary to the case of power frequency electromagnetic fields (EMF), microwave absorption by the living body tends to increase with time – somewhat like X-rays and radioactivity. Microwave emissions (EMR) also adversely interact with certain common medications as well as heavy metals within the body.

Women – Avoid underwire bras: The problem created by metal wires in eyeglasses also applies to underwire bras. As you drive around the city, while you live or work near cell towers or Wi-Fi hotspots and even more intensely when you are using a cell phone, the wire in your bra can act as a passive aerial or antenna, receiving and then re-radiating the radiofrequency / microwaves directly into the delicate breast tissues.

ALWAYS keep cell phones turned OFF, unless in the process of making an actual “emergency” call. Why? When a cell phone receives a call, it communicates with the service provider using an analog encoding scheme known as “Mod-R”. Unlike the digital signals that carry sound information to and from cell phones, Mod-R must be a very strong signal that broadcasts on seventeen wide-band radio frequencies. The reason for this is obvious: if you are in an area where you can’t get cell phone service due to interference or a bad signal (for example when you are in a tunnel), the cell phone has to let the mobile service provider know that it is currently unavailable. In order to achieve this even in bad signal conditions, Mod-R uses a signal much broader and stronger than the FCC generally allows. An allowance is made however, because the signal is only sent for exactly three seconds.

After completing a successful “handshake” with the provider, the cell phone will switch to the low-power digital mode for communication. This 3-second “blast” of radiation may occur every 2 or 3 minutes, depending on the phone. Cell towers periodically “ping” your phone to identify you and log your physical location. Each time your phone “powers up” you receive a harmful dose of both EMF (from the battery) and EMR (the radiofrequency microwaves that go out for miles in all directions seeking a cell tower). Both EMF (electromagnetic fields) and EMR (electromagnetic radiation) are harmful to your body’s cells. (Note: To turn off some cell phones, such as iPhones, you need to physically remove the battery.
